Gravesend, Brooklyn — Community & civic researcher · Environmental data · Musician
Victoria Vasilyeva
I'm Victoria — Vika to my people. I study how neighborhoods actually work: who's counted, who's left out, and what the data says once you go outside and ask. I've also been playing piano and guitar for as long as I can remember, and that shapes how I work.
Open to internships, research, arts & civic collaborations

Visioning Sustainable Futures
An open-call art competition I hosted at Brooklyn Level Up's Community Report Back, inviting NYC youth to submit work responding to three themes — Cultivate, Collective, Resilience — with community voting, prizes, and a chance to be installed in BKLVLUP's Community Resilience Hub. Space for young artists who usually get left out. Most of the work was outreach: emailing artists, schools and organizers until the submissions came in.

Group project
Community Street Interview Framework
Co-led with Jay and Carlisha. I helped write the questions residents in The Flats were actually asked — and filmed the group's closing video. Three takes; the audio didn't record the first time, so I offered to do it again.

I'm Victoria — Vika to my people. Gravesend, Brooklyn. Piano first, then guitar. I came to EcoPower '26 because I wanted to actually do something, not just learn about doing something.
Full profileWhat I actually do
Community & Civic Research
I design questions and talk to residents directly, then turn what they say into something a decision-maker can act on.
Street interviews, listening, synthesis
Environmental Data
I look at maps, soil tests and flood patterns to see which blocks carry the most risk — and who's alone in it.
GIS literacy, soil & flood research
Art as Civic Practice
I use art and music to bring people into conversations about sustainability that they'd otherwise skip.
Curation, outreach, visual communication
